This study conducted from November 1, 1994, through May 30, 1995, in order to provide basic data, for development of health education program for the elderly, for promotion of health care measure for the Elderly health by analysis on factors related to health status and health behavior in 60 years and over.
A total of the elderly 1363 was selected from Seoul, Taejeon, Taegu, Soowon, Jochiwon, Kyongsan and Milyang city. Questionnaire forms were prepared and the subjects who selected were interviewed by trained graduated students.
The results are as follows :
Health status and health behavior level were tend to low by mean of 71.2 points, 58.9 points to 100 full marks respectively.
Health education program and policy establishment for health promotion of the elderly should positively try by related authorities, specialist, with mutual cooperation.
Especially it is important to assist for the elderly who can do healthy home life and social life, by preparing the condition of satisfaction with related variables and improving their habits of health behavior.
For this, it is important to provide health education for olders but more essential to have health education in primary, middle and high school to form proper health behavior.
